New look

I've been hacking away at the code and I think the blog is looking pretty nice right now! I'm still tweaking it as it looks a bit skewed. Hopefully I can figure it out.

I've been hard at work keeping up with stores and orders. I'm taking pictures but they have been turning out like crap lately! Here's a recent (and semi-decent) one

Inspiration is where you find it

I've been a slave to color lately... I feel such great satisfaction when pieces like this come together! Hope you enjoy them :)

Back!

Well I'm back in the studio after a wonderful and much needed vacation! My parents' neighbor is a fireworks technician in PA and he set off a spectacular show in his backyard on the 4th. It was so wonderful to watch from the deck with a cold drink and not have to fight for parking with 50,000 other people! I'm easily amused but it doesn't get much better than that!

Now I'm just catching up on orders that came in while I was away (and cleaning up after leaving a husband and 2 dogs alone for 2 weeks...can you say "yikes"? And looking forward to fresh fall jewelry with a new creative zest! :)

You may still place orders during June 14-July 6, and items will be processed, however all orders placed during this time will ship after July 7. Happy Summer!

Autism Awareness

Here are a few samples of the autism awareness bracelets I have at Fleurs and Finds Boutique in N. Raleigh. The owner, Dotty, has a grandson with autism and a portion of the proceeds from this jewelry is being donated to the autism research foundation. On May 6 Dotty is also having a tag sale in the morning - then at 7 pm she's having music on the lawn so bring a chair and stop by! Another reason to stop by is to enter in the raffle to win a necklace, bracelet and earrings set from Rosemary Thornton Studio. Pink pearls and beautiful faceted rose quartz!
The necklace is shown above...tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Good luck!!

Rosemary

My good friend and fellow artist north of the border Kellie, of www.kelliesutton.com, named a pair of earrings after me! Isn't she sweet? And these earrings are just sweet enough to eat!

What time is it?

I can tell you with 5 new watches! One of my stores requested them so I tried them out and am very pleased with the first batch! Shell is big for the spring and pearls are always in style. The bands are interchangeable for a new look every day!

Changes coming!

First the news...I'm in the process of changing my name!!! Nope it won't be a drastic change but... I am changing to Rosemary Thornton Designs (www.RosemaryThornton.com). I already have the URL pointing to my site so go ahead and try it out for a test spin! :)
I think "beads" doesn't accurately portray my business future as I get more into working with silver and soldering. This name will be carried on with me for many years! I've made a few new things but I haven't been able to get good pics lately...the lighting is off. So I decided to take this opportunity to give kudos to other people's things I love! The first is a handbag by Leigh-Ann Klein (http://www.leighannkline.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=194) I love the blue and champagne ribbons! All of her bags are works of art and she has many tasty treats on her site!

Next is Polly's Cakes (www.pollyscakes.com). More artwork...this time edible! Just plain fabulous! I might even start celebrating birthdays again if I had one of these cakes! More later...
